This is a real Good Question, from a real Good Question viewer.
"If a man wears a ring on the middle finger of his left hand rather than on his ring finger, does that mean he's gay? (I am referring to Tom Lyden of Ch. 9.)" -Julia, Eden Prairie
I do my best to answer all of your Good Questions, so I sent Julia's query onto my friend Tom. His response is hilarious.
"Hey Jason, It is not a necessary pre-condition or a sure fire identifier. It’s not like having a fabulous sense of style, a good haircut, or a fine sense of manners. That says Urban Gay. Likewise, it’s not like having an ear ring in the left ear, a red hanky in the back pocket, or a preoccupation with the steam room at the Y. That’s Castro Gay.
It’s subtle. It’s modern. It’s post-Gay. It says, “Yeah, I’m one of the 18,000 who got married in California. No big deal."
Honestly, never thought much about it since I slipped it on my finger 12 very happy years ago."
Good Question. Getting it done.
