Being "Jason DeRusha" the reporter gives me access to people that "Jason DeRusha" the average guy wouldn't be able to reach. One of the best things about this job is that I'm able to use that to help some of the people who e-mail me.
We get about 75 Good Question e-mails a day. I read them all. Yesterday, I got an e-mail from Maggie:
"My father-in-law just passed away. He lost his mind & in doing so, he ordered Anderson windows.$9000.00 worth. My mother in-law never wanted them. She never signed anything,& would love to get some money back. She is now alone and has stage 4 cancer herself. Can anything be done,or can anyone help? Grandpa had lung cancer & diskitis. L3 & L4. He was very much in pain, and really not with the program. They also had him on Morphine. Thank you for any help."
At 2:30 yesterday afternoon, I e-mailed Susan with Anderson Windows, in the PR department. She called me about two hours later to tell me the company was looking into it. This morning I got an e-mail from Maggie reading:
"I spoke with Kim from Renewal by Anderson this am. She agreed to refund 1/2 her deposit. Kim was very accommodating & it was a reasonable agreement. We were very happy. Two thumbs up for Renewal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would recommend them highly, to any one. I want to THANK-YOU for your involvement with this. I don't think we could have done it without your help. YOU DO ROCK !!! "
It's impossible to help everyone who e-mails, but it's cool to be able to send an e-mail, and have things work out.
