More than half of Minnesota’s rural households now connected to broadband
We recently had a local client ask if I knew the percentage of people in the Twin Cities who currently use a broadband internet connection. Thanks to The Center for Rural Policy and Development, we were able to provide the client with the percentage of both Minnesota households and Twin City Metro households who use broadband. Below is a graph showing where Minnesota currently stands in terms of broadband penetration. The seven-county Twin Cities metro area shows a 62.9% broadband penetration with Minnesota's rural penetration at 52.3%. Although the metro area still shows a lead, the study points out that the gap is quickly closing.
