No Mo Go-Go

I'll be OK with that. Delmon Young showed some nice improvement at the end of the season after Mijares fired him up. Delmon certainly won't make the web gems Gomez would have made but he'll have more home runs.

The outfield will be better than fine. Cuddy exploded this year and Span's the man.

The only thing we lose in this move is the experience and bat at the top of the lineup that Orlando Cabera brought this season. That's almost more upsetting than thinking about what a bust the Johan Santana trade ended up being. I'll miss Orlando.

Hello J.J.

I get this move though... J.J. Hardy will bring youth and a possibility of a 20 homerun season to the shortstop position. Hardy had two good seasons in Brewville in 07/08 but a "nightmare" season this year that included a demotion to the minors. I reckon Gomez should have been demoted this year too. So all's fair.
