Welcome to Conversation Nation, the official home of conversation. Ok, truth be told, conversation doesn’t technically have an official home. But our legal department is looking into it. Until then, this is where David, Paula, Robi and Todd bring their thought bubbles to life and welcome you in to discuss whatever’s on your mind.

One Has To Go: Rain Or Jackson Coverage

Posted by Robi

This morning on Twitter I posed this question: Which do you want to go away more: the saturation of rain or the saturation of Michael Jackson coverage? You can only pick one!  This weather is making people crazy and judging from comments on our blog and others, so is the non-stop coverage of the Michael Jackson story

One of the most vocal critics is a network anchorman who ripped his bosses on the networks own website saying he's sick of the Michael Jackson coverage

John Stossel of ABC's 20-20 was ticked off because his network held a piece he did on health care in favor of yet another Jackson sidebar story. Stossel said "free markets sometimes encourage pandering to the masses." His bosses defended the decision by saying "there's enormous interest in the story."

Yes, I realize my own station and network have gone almost "wall to wall" too. Feel free to tell us to "beat it."

Are you sick of all the Michael Jackson stories or do you think his death warrants this much coverage?

And if you had to pick one to go away, would it be the non-stop rain or non-stop Michael TV?
