Welcome to Conversation Nation, the official home of conversation. Ok, truth be told, conversation doesn’t technically have an official home. But our legal department is looking into it. Until then, this is where David, Paula, Robi and Todd bring their thought bubbles to life and welcome you in to discuss whatever’s on your mind.

Bristol Palin: Role Model?

Posted by Robi

For a while Bristol Palin shunned the spotlight, but it was almost impossible since she was the unwed pregnant teenage daughter of a vice presidential candidate.

Now she's ready to tell other teens "don't do what I did"

The 18 year old single mom just signed on to be a Teen Ambassador for a national campaign to prevent teen pregnancy

Back in February Palin told FOX News teens should avoid sex but "abstinence is not realistic at all"

Now she's saying: "If I can prevent even one girl from getting pregnant, I will feel a sense of accomplishment."

In December Palin gave birth to a baby boy, Trigg. She and the boy's father, Levi Johnston, cancelled plans to marry.

Bristol Palin will make a series of public appearances starting today to kick off National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month

Local teen pregnancy prevention advocates told us having a "celebrity" spokesperson can be helpful but it order to succeed programs must provide teens with comprehensive sex education, access to contraceptives and hope for a bright future.

Can she be role model? Local teens we talked to are skeptical. Isn't her situation a lot different from most teens?
