WCCO TV BRINGS HOME 8 EMMY AWARDS
Minneapolis/ St. Paul – September 26, 2009 –– WCCO TV continued its broadcasting excellence, winning 8 Emmy Awards at the National Television Academy of Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Upper Midwest Chapter Regional Emmy Awards gala held Saturday, September 26 at the Pantages Theater in Minneapolis.
“This is truly an honor,” said Susan Adams Loyd, WCCO TV Vice President and General Manager. “To receive 8 Emmy’s from the Academy is a testament to the talent and dedication of our WCCO staff.”
The grand finale of the evening was WCCO TV’s award for Overall Station Excellence for the second year in a row.
“This is an accomplishment that each of our employees can proudly share. Such accolades are given only to those stations that stand a head above the others, shining in many facets. WCCO TV sets the standard to which other stations aspire”, said Loyd.
The Emmy Award is presented to honor excellence in broadcasting. This year, over 300 entries were received from a variety of media including network affiliates, television and newspaper Internet local cable access channels, public and private organizations, individual bloggers and universities.
