According to the SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Ratchet, the dog adopted by Minnesota soldier, Gwen Beberg, will be allowed to leave Iraq. The SPCA says Ratchet missed a flight out of Baghdad today and will have to wait for the next flight which may come Sunday. Beberg is scheduled to return from Iraq later this month.
Beberg, who has served in Iraq for more than a year, will be paying a price for trying to save Ratchet –- she has been demoted from Sergeant to Specialist.
What do you think? Is the Army being unfair or playing by the rules? I'd love to hear your comments below.
