With 64% of the vote in, only 105 votes separate Al Franken and Norm Coleman in the race for U.S. Senate.
Minnesota does have an automatic recount law. And here it is:
An automatic recount for state and federal contests in a general election when the difference between the votes of the winning
candidate and any other candidate is less than 0.5% of the total number of votes counted for that office.
My guess is that would be about a 15,000 vote difference. There have been 1.8 million votes cast so far, 64%. Someone can do quicker math than me.
Of course, we don't know where the votes are missing from... but we could be headed for a recount.
