Meteorologist Mike Fairbourne is in the news for signing a petition on the global warming issue. The Star Tribune first reported this today. There's more detail in this WCCO.com story, including comments from Don Shelby. Mike told the Strib that environmentalists are practicing "squishy science" when they tie global warming to human activity. Brian Lambert breaks down the story at MSP Mag.
A couple interesting notes: Mike says he filled out a survey on the issue that was sent to him. He didn't actively "sign a petition." That's a distinction that matters, I think. Also noteworthy, Mike agrees that the Earth is warming, an issue we explored in this Good Question. He just questions the link to human activity. Shelby's Project Energy from 2006 is worth a watch (he had Bob Davis from KSTP-AM and J. Drake Hamilton face off. Good stuff.)
