Wow have I heard some stories of nightmarish commutes last night. Two-and-a-half hours to go 12 miles? Really?
It took me about three times as long to get home, and when some truck apparently didn't see me in his rear view mirror (or just decided his car was bigger than mine) I went sliding off the road as he just moved on into my lane. No apology, no nothing. Fortunately, the side of the road was a big soft snow bank, so I just pulled back into the road and was fine.
Needless to say, I took my time going the rest of the way home. It looks like things may be a little dicey tonight on the ride home too, so you may want to remember to "use the facilities" before you hit the road. Chris Shaffer says Friday morning's ride to work is likely going to be the worst of the week, so if you can, plan your way around going in during peak hours now.
If any of you have any secret ways home or wild stories from last night or this morning, let me know by commenting below.
It sounds like April and Clay, who commented yesterday, are over the cold weather already. I know they're not alone. All the locals are telling me December shouldn't be this cold. At least we have the snow. It's no fun to drive in, but if it's going to be miserable outside, at least fresh snow makes it pretty.

We're working on a story tonight for the 10 p.m. news that will probably make you mad, and it should. I got an e-mail from the wonderful folks at RAGOM (Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota) which is a rescue organization for Golden Retrievers. My neighbors adopted a dog from them and the screening process they went through was impressive. They want these dogs that have already been through so much to end up in good homes.
Anyway, check out the story of sweet little Annie by clicking here.
Say a prayer for her, and if you know anyone who can help out, the information is all here.
