Let's start with the incredible storm that just pummeled Denver and the Rockies with feet of snow!  I talked to my sister yesterday who lives in Denver and she said it was wild...14" on the ground outside her house and the mountains picked 3-4 feet!  Funny thing, the forecast is calling for several days in the 60s next week so there will be some melting going on for sure.  That storm is heading into the Great Lakes now and will travel into Canada...to our west then north...so we will be on the warmer side assuring us of some mild air to start the weekend.  Temps will pop into the upper 60s maybe even 70 tomorrow afternoon...interesting if we had full sunshine and a higher sun angle mid 80s would be attainable!  Unfortunately we don't have either of those things going for us.

If you look at the storm in the Midwest right now it is loaded with moisture...it's hard to believe it won't soak us.  But the Upper low is opening up and sheering into two.  The bulk of the energy goes into Canada and we get a frontal passage here Saturday night.  There may not be much upper level support but there is good low level wamth and some moisture advection driven by a 60 knot SW jet max at 5000 feet.  So just enough juice for a thin line of showers along the front late in the evening.  The southern stream will get a bit involved with the front after it passes through early Sunday morning producing some more showers during the overnight into very early Sunday morning.

The wind will be the biggest variable.  The gradient will be quite strong out ahead of the front and SW winds will be sustained between 15-30 mph with potential gusts to 40 mph in the evening when the core of the low level jet is passing overhead.
