I haven't done anything wrong. I'm just facing up to the fact that I'm behind the times technologically. Here I thought because I was making a run at blogging that I was getting with the program.
But now that I've seem to have the concept of what blogs are and how they work, I'm left in the dark when co-workers and friends talk about getting news on "Twitter." Or how I probably didn't hear about Angela's party because I'm not on "Facebook."
Seriously, it's tough to stay ahead of the curve in this new era of "social networking." In fact, it seems hard not to be left in the dust. Just last week I had someone point out to me that I didn't need to say "online social networking" because it is assumed that "social networking" is done on the Web these days. Really? I'm that behind the times?
The answer is yes, even though I e-mail, text, blog, and Google on a regular basis. In fact, I'm hearing blogs are "like, uh, 5-minutes-ago-dot-com, JT!"
So, if you just recently ventured into the "blogosphere", you're probably in the pool of people like myself who I call "Tweeners." We're interested enough in learning about new technology, we are just among the generations that didn't grow up with it dominating our lives.
So, I'm FACE-ing my next challenge.
I've joined the masses who are on Facebook.
It seems kind of repetitive of this process. I let people know what I'm doing. I post pictures. I get comments back from viewers and friends. But it is more immediate, and somehow more personal.
So if you are feeling inclined, jump on in the pool of people embracing this "Social Networking" tool. So far, I kind of like it. Even though I don't totally get it.
See you online!
