38th Notes, a consistently excellent spot to find East Bay culture-related topics, features
a video today that explores the often tumultuous relationship between the Oakland PD and the citizenry:
V Smoothe recently reported
on the community forums that new OPD Chief Batts has been taking part
in. This approach is at least a first step in mending the divides
between the police and the community, but the rhetoric will mean little
if not converted to conduct.
The video below explores the
strained relationship between the boys and the people in Oakland, and
it is definitely nothing to underestimate.
It's a powerful piece.
