Violence, very probably gang related, broke out at a Pinole public school, and an Oakland police officer was injured trying to stop the fight:
An eighth-grade graduation ceremony in Pinole was canceled after a gang fight broke out and an off-duty officer was assaulted.
Police and officials at Stewart School say as many as six juveniles
were involved in the fight Wednesday evening. None of them were
students at Stewart.
Police arrested two 17-year-olds on suspicion of assault on the
officer who tried to break up the fight. One of the teens also was
booked on suspicion of participating in gang activity.
Officials canceled a school dance later that evening at the request
of police. They moved the graduation ceremony to Thursday morning, and
it was held without incident.
CBS 5 is asking Eye on Blogs readers who might have attended the event to submit images or video that may have been captured during the fight. If you do have photos or film footage of the crime,
you can easily submit them online.
