Dave Bender
Dave Bender is a California native. He reports the weather Monday through Friday at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. He also hosts the segment "Save with Dave" as well as "The 12 Daves of Christmas," a CBS13 holiday tradition. Dave attended UC San Diego as well as Palomar College. He studied Meteorology and Broadcasting to prepare him for weather casting. Dave's career has taken him to Arizona, San Diego, and Washington, DC and, of course, Sacramento.

Laura Skirde
Laura Skirde is the morning meteorologist for CBS13, joining the station in July, 2009. You can also catch her forecasts on Good Day Sacramento and CBS13 at Noon. A fan of warm climates, Laura comes to Sacramento after forecasting everything from supercell thunderstorms to landfalling hurricanes in Austin, TX. Laura has a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and received her Meteorology certification from Mississippi State University.

El Nino = Big Storms
California, especially SoCal, has seen never-ending convoys of wet weather systems all season long. Why is that?
