Feb 9, 2010 6:50 AM Getting my hair & makeup done at the Alive! Green Expo Pavilion Lounge KayCee Stroh, an actress from High Musical 1,2 and 3 Aaron Rodgers, Quarterback for Greenbay Packers, at the Kari Feinstein Style Lounge I'm back in Paris, but realized I didn't post the rest of my Sundance celebrities pictures. I saw most of these celebs scoring swag from a variety of gifting lounges. Some of the free stuff they got include free cell phones from AT&T, designer clothes and shoes... I head from friends another gifting suite gave out gift cards from Johnny Rockets where they get free meals for the entire year! Now that's a hook-up, but imagine all the extra workouts you'd have to get in to work off the burgers and fries! Feb 5, 2010 2:57 PM Having brunch in Paris in the Marais- a lively neighborhood even on Sunday when most stores are closed. I was in between semesters at the Sorbonne University in Paris, so I've been spending time in the U.S. You can see I covered Sundance for Good Day Sacramento, which was a blast. As I prepare for my trip back to Paris this weekend, I wonder how long this adventure will last. Sometimes I get jitters, but then whenever I always land in Paris, I am captivated by the beauty, elegance and magic of the city, culture and people. I am trying to pack as light as possible, but it's difficult as I'm bringing spring and summer clothes with me. Okay, I'm bringing more winter stuff, but I can't help it! I have to look fashionable, especially when you are surrounded by chic Parisians! Feb 2, 2010 10:46 AM Khloe Kardashian with a Jenny B scarf John Gosselin with a Jenny B T-shirt (interesting choice of words on his shirt!) Pauly Shore and me at the Sky lodge I stopped by the Talent Resources Sky Suite in Park City, Utah, during Sundance to check out which celebrities were getting free stuff, also known as swag. In the lobby I saw Pauly Shore. So what were these celebs picking up for free? boots from Australia Luxe (cute boots that are entering the market to compete with Uggs), Rebecca Jewels (very cute jewelry) and one of my favorites, hot chocolate from Bustelo! I've been making my hot chocolate with soy milk or almond milk and it's delicious! Jan 22, 2010 7:13 PM I checked out the Fred Segal Gifting Lounge today. This is where celebrities will come by and get FREE stuff (like they need it!). lol! For you fashionistas.. if you're curious what was being given out, here's a list of some of the designers: Parish Nation, Affliction Clothing, Desigual, Dillon Rogers, Dockers, EMU Australia, etc. Just in case you're not familiar with the Fred Segal boutique, it's a store popular in Los Angeles, frequented by many celebrities in Hollywood. Sure, this is not where you go for cheap t-shirts, but this has the trendy casual clothes you see Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen wearing. Later tonight, I will be watching a short film produced by a team from France! How apropos, non? Jan 22, 2010 6:48 PM
I completed my first semester at the Sorbonne, where I've
been learning French. I signed up for a second semester because my experience
has been great so far. I especially liked my teacher, Madame, Giselle. She had
great lessons planned, was organized and enjoyed her students. The only thing I
wish the Sorbonne would have focused more on was speaking. The Sorbonne is
famous for focusing on a lot of grammar, which I think is fine. I believe I
have a good basis of French, I just now need to speak it more. I plan on
signing up for language exchanges, where you find French speakers who want to
speak English with me, and in exchange, I speak French with them. I realize I
will have to make more of an effort to speak French. For now, I've been parle
Franglais!
Jan 6, 2010 11:32 AM Recycled Christmas Tree My xmas trees in my flat. No tree this year. My sister's tree in NY (where I spent xmas). Ok, I know the holidays are over, but it snowed again in Paris, so I think it's okay to post these pictures (I've been meaning to post these forever!). The Christmas tree made of recycled plastic bottles is near the Louvre. I thought it was really creative! My favorite so far. Next, I'll post stuff on another Cordon Bleu class, where I learned how to make many Chocolate desserts, including the secret to macarons! Also, I spent New Year's Eve in Switzerland. I went to the Swiss Alps and got to visit a charming medieval village. It was snowing and so picturesque! Dec 28, 2009 7:20 AM Notre Dame, Paris Before the holidays are completely over, I wanted to do a post on Christmas trees in Paris. I found that while most things are much more expensive (try $20 for contact solution!), Christmas trees are also quite pricey compared to the U.S. They're also much smaller (I've seen many 3 to 4 foot trees), and they cost $60 to $100!! So I opted for a Christmas tree candle for my flat and a mini tree for my desk. I also found a few unique Christmas trees on display around the city (my favorite is the tree made of plastic bottles). Check out the pictures! | |
