Another new love triangle came about when Serena found herself caught between Nate and Tripp. And, of course, Lady Gaga dropped by to pay our Upper East siders a visit. Let’s retouch on all of last night’s events:

Threesome Gone Wrong
Coming off the ménage a trois, last night’s episode opened up with Dan doing an obligatory post-threesome strut, reliving his glory through some very…umm…indulgent flashbacks. I have to say, those flashbacks were pretty hot and steamy, and more than made up for last week’s underwhelming performance. Nate (who suddenly became the all-knowing relationship guru) shook his head in disapproval and brought Dan back to reality, seeing as how the stud broke the golden rule of threesomes: “the third person is always supposed to be a stranger.”

Olivia became jealous of Dan and Vanessa’s bond, and tensions rose when the budding playwright enlisted his co-threesome partners for his wacky, but very hip, Snow White remake. Of course, the claws came out between Olivia and Vanessa. But, Blair, being the lovely egocentric bee-yotch that she is and insisting that the show must go on for her own sake, blackmailed O and V into cooperating. Dan finally realized his true feelings for V, but it was too late. Our Lonely Boy became lonely once more when he ended up losing out on both girls. V started to crush on theater buff Paul and Olivia had to leave for the filming of the Witches of Eastwick.

Going Gaga for Lady Gaga
Blair impressed the NYU theater kids by bringing in Lady Gaga via B’s entertainment lawyer stepdad Cyrus Rose (who supposedly was the inspiration for Poker Face haha). Lady Gaga’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. There were ladders, hot male dancers, and a 30-foot-long dress. What else could you ask for? “Bad Romance” was the perfect encapsulation of the episode.

Serena is Trippin’
Serena needs to get her act together and stop going crazy over every guy that she comes across. Tripp is a MARRIED CONGRESSMAN. S shouldn’t even mess with that. She has a perfectly great guy waiting in the wings, who is not only younger and has less baggage, but is way hotter! Serena and Nate’s hook-up in the first season is what changed everything, so it would only be fitting if things came around in full circle, culminating with them getting back together. Team SerenNate all the way! S has made some awful decisions over the course of this season, but leaving with Tripp had to be the worst. I guess it’s only what we could expect from Serena. She’s that one hot mess of a trainwreck that you hope will get back on track. Well, there is still the rest of the season left, and until then I’ll continue to have hope that S will somehow redeem herself.

Jenny’s Walk on the Wild Side
Little J put her Queen Bee crown aside to help out Chuck by showing the son of his client, Damien, around town. This son of an ambassador turned out to be one badass drug dealer, and he even got Little J to join him in his dangerous trade. Chuck Bass came just in time to save the day, swooping up Jenny from partaking in any more bad behavior. Jenny has already teetered on the dark side, but this is whole new territory. By the looks of it, Little J is down to do some exploring, sending a text to Damien saying that she had fun and that they should do it again sometime. Not a wise choice, Little J, but if it means more Damien, then that’s fine by us (Good job by casting! He’s a hottie!).

Catch Gossip Girl on Mondays @ 9PM on the CW 44Cable12.

GG101.jpg

GG102.jpg

GG104.jpg

Lady Gaga Invades the Upper East Side
Move over, Blair Waldorf! A new queen is out to dethrone you, and it isn’t Jenny Humphrey. Next week, as you all well know, the Queen of Pop herself Lady Gaga, is taking over the realm of Gossip Girl.

This season has been filled with plenty of big-name guest spots, and Lady Gaga has to be the hottest celebrity the show has nabbed to date. However, she isn’t just looking to make a mere appearance. This pop star is pulling out all the stops.

In an article from MTV.com, Lady Gaga explains that she made sure the writers took heed of her grand vision: "I was like, 'Look, I want to do this, and the reason I want to do this is because I am trying to say something that is not mainstream in a mainstream capacity. So if I can say it on your show, that would be, like, a real coup d'état for me as a performance artist.' "

And what would that vision be, if she didn’t appear in dramatic fashion? The style icon has been known to sport some ostentatious and eccentric outfits, and her attire for next week will no less get the fashion world a-buzzin’, as she performs in a 30-foot-long gown.

In the episode titled “The Last Days of Disco Stick,” Lady Gaga is brought in by Blair, as the Queen Bee tries to prove herself by impressing the theater kids of NYU. Gaga will be performing her latest single, “Bad Romance,” which is only fitting for the Dan, Olivia, and Vanessa jumble. Apparently, Lady Gaga will somehow be involved in the threesome storyline, as they all must work together to execute this private concert.

Can Lady Gaga help fix the whole threesome mess and restore peace to the land of Gossip Girl? Or will she end up stirring more chaos?

In any case, I can’t wait to see what the pop diva has up her sleeve!

Lady_Gaga.jpg

Gossip Girl: They Shoot Humphrey’s...?

In this week’s episode of Gossip Girl, Jenny tried to nab the hottest date for the Cotillion, but Eric set out to sabotage her plans. Serena and Blair made up, but they didn’t make out, unlike Dan, Olivia, and Vanessa. Hello, threesome! Let’s touch up on all of last night’s Gossip:

Eric’s Evil Streak
Eric was totally M.I.A. from the last episode, but this week he came back and with a vengeance! We saw a whole different side to Eric, as he went behind Jenny’s back and deleted a text from her potential escort Graham Collins. The thing was, Eric wasn’t just doing this to be spiteful. He had good intentions. As Eric explained through a Star Wars metaphor, he saw Jenny as the young Anakin, and he was the Obi-Wan trying to keep her away from the dark side. Unfortunately, his scheming backfired when Jenny found out what he had done, getting all Darth Vader on everyone. By sinking down to Jenny’s level, Eric ended up losing Jonathon in the process (it’s okay, he was kind of dull, anyway). It’s cool how Eric was trying to steer Jenny in the right direction, but he just went about it the wrong way. Now that he has teamed up with the newly introduced Kira, I’m looking forward to seeing him take down the Queen Bee.

Love in an Elevator (syke!)
Serena and Blair still hadn’t apologized to one another, so Chuck took it upon himself to do some behind-the-scenes plotting in order to reunite the former BFFs. He got the two together the best way he knew how: by trapping them in an elevator until they both caved in, leaving enough whiskey and macaroons to last them for days (very classy and considerate). Of course, they couldn’t stay mad for long, and eventually kissed and made up, so to speak. Though Chuck did encourage some lip action, chiming in through the elevator intercom, “If you want to kiss, it won’t count as cheating.” Oh, silly Chuck! He’s such a great boyfriend. He came up with this elaborate plan because he knew how much Blair missed Serena and just wanted to do what was best for Blair. How sweet!

Serena Pulling a Monica Lewinsky
Aside from all the drama with Blair, Serena stirred a little trouble on her own by taking a job with Tripp Vanderbilt. Last week ended with a WTF moment, as Tripp and Serena shared some late night cocktails (and who knows what else). Both Serena and Tripp weren’t able to get that special night off their minds. Just as Serena was about to resign, Tripp, instead, pleaded for her to stay. He revealed that Serena is one of the only people he could trust and that he found her both smart and charming (Really, Tripp, really?). I’m not sure if Serena’s smarts was what Tripp was after. As Tripp told Serena that he still owed her a favor from last time, he gave her a touch that seemed to linger on for a bit too long. Serena shouldn’t even get involved in this one. Tripp is a married congressman, after all. Plus, she isn’t just messing with Tripp, she’s messing with the whole Vanderbilt clan. If she were truly smart, she would stay away, unless she wants to face the wrath of Grandpa Vanderbilt.

The Ultimate College Experience
Olivia learned that she had to leave NYU since another Endless Knights movie was in the works. Dan and Vanessa wanted to give her a good taste of the college life as a send-off. Their plans went off with a bang. Literally. I had a feeling that the much-hyped about threesome would involve these three. Though, I couldn’t help but be a little disappointed about how it all went down. I know there are censorship standards to follow, but couldn’t they have made the threesome a tad steamier? All we got was a few awkward kisses here and there. Oh well. If anything, this threesome has set up a very interesting storyline between Dan, Olivia, and Vanessa. Now that the fun is over, they’ll have to deal with all the repercussions in the next episode. Catch Gossip Girl on Mondays @ 9PM on the CW 44Cable12.

GG1.jpg

GG2.jpg

GG3.jpg

Gossip Girl: The Grandfather, Part II

This week’s episode of Gossip Girl was focused on Tripp’s campaign of becoming a NY congressman. The Vanderbilts found themselves in some political hot water when a little rescue on the Hudson River went awry. But Nate’s family weren’t the only ones involved in politics. Blair and Serena got into some mudslinging of their own. Let’s recap this week’s events on Gossip Girl:

The Claws Come Out
The tension between Serena and Blair continued, as the former BFFs refused to apologize to one another for last week’s betrayals. We haven’t seen a battle between these two since Season 2, so you know a good one had to be coming our way. This week’s catfight did not disappoint. You had it all. There was name-calling, backstabbing, one-upping, and cake pushing (so hilarious when S pushed B into that cake). Chuck had it right when he called out Serena on her immaturity. Blair, on the other hand, started to show some maturity when she explained how Serena was drifting away from the people most important to her and was selling herself out by putting up with that PR job (calling S a prostitute was a bit too harsh, though). It looked like Serena took what some of Blair said to heart when she dumped her phony RPatzz-inspired boo and told KC that she quit. But Serena’s efforts might’ve been too little too late, as the status of her and Blair’s friendship was up in the air.

Dirty Politics
We haven’t seen much of Nate this season, so putting the Vanderbilt campaign front and center was a nice change of pace. Okay, so this political storyline may have been sort of dull, but, hey, it’s better than seeing Nate whore himself out again or not seeing him at all. It’s surprising to see Nate take all this political stuff so seriously. He was even willing to deal Vanessa a low blow to ensure Tripp’s victory. At first, I thought Nate might’ve been behind the Hudson River hoax, but it turns out that Tripp’s wife was the scheming mastermind. Who knew? I guess she’s not just some harmless trophy wife, after all. We’ll have to keep an eye out on her. But we’ll also have to keep an eye out on Tripp. What was that ending sequence between Serena and Tripp all about? Tripp hasn’t even started his job as a congressman, but it already looks like he might be involved in another scandal.

Bathroom Boy
Who else was let down by this whole “bathroom boy” story? With all of the build-up, I was expecting a totally mortifying story about Dan, but all of the hubbub turned out to be about a spider and an inside-out shirt. Yawn. Well, at least we got to some Jimmy Fallon in the mix.

This week’s episode was a little lukewarm, but things should heat up on the next episode, especially with the highly-anticipated THREESOME about to go down. Catch Gossip Girl on Mondays @ 9PM on the CW 44Cable12.

GG.jpg

GG2.jpg

Gossip Girl: How to Succeed in Bassness

This week’s Halloween-themed episode of Gossip Girl saw the launch of Chuck’s new club. Business got underway, but not without a little backstabbing and scandal. Let’s touch up on all the tricks and treats of this week’s episode.

“Chair” Embrace the Dark Side
“Chair” hit an all time low last week when Blair fooled Chuck into kissing a certain NYU alum as a part of her wicked game. Chuck did forgive, but he sure didn’t forget (and we didn’t either!). It’s kind of sweet how Blair wanted to help Chuck with the grand opening of his club, but she shouldn’t have gone behind Chuck’s back when he clearly didn’t want her anywhere near it. Calling Jack Bass for favors, Blair? Really? Not cool. Blair’s behind-the-scenes meddling didn’t do anything to gain Chuck’s trust back, but as he explained, it’s their distrust for each other that keeps their relationship interesting and, in order to be a team, they should instead focus their duplicity on others. And that’s exactly what they did, as they teamed up to turn Chuck’s club opening from a bust into a much talked about headline. It’s cute how they accept each other’s evil ways. Now, “Chair” is back and stronger than ever!

Little J Growing Into a Monster
Little J really let her status as Queen Bee get into her head this week. It’s strange because she didn’t even want to be Queen in the first place. It’s totally messed up what she did to Eric and Jonathan. They were right in trying to put Jenny in her place on the steps at the MET. Instead of turning her back on her former BFFs, Jenny should dump her dim-witted minions and create a new kind of order, with Jonathan and Eric by her side as rulers of the school. Well, at least this whole Jenny and Eric feud lets Eric become more involved with the storylines. Oh yeah, what was up with Jenny’s hair and make-up? I like that she has a kind of punk-rock style, but she was looking a bit too gothic this week. She really needs to tone it down, with both her looks and her b*tchy attitude.

Dan and Olivia Get Down, Vampire Style
Dan and Olivia took their relationship to the next level. But, before they got down with the deed, Dan figured he should at least watch her vampire film series Endless Knights (perhaps for some tips?). Nate planted some doubt in Dan’s mind, informing him of all the rumors surrounding Olivia’s relationship with costar Patrick Roberts (so cute how Nate is a superfan and follows all the blogs). Olivia tried to reassure Dan that it was all for publicity. Though, later we find out that it was real, after all. Olivia tried to explain, “I lied because I cared about you” (hmm…there’s definitely something wrong with that line of reasoning). Without even thinking about it, Dan instantly gave into Olivia’s cute act and forgave her (c’mon Dan, you’re better than this). While it’s interesting to have Hilary Duff as part of the cast, I just don’t feel any chemistry between Olivia and Dan. The two seem to have more of a buddy-buddy vibe. Well, they can’t keep her character around for much longer, since she’s only a guest star.... (or is she?)

While “Chair” got back on the road to recovery, Serena and Blair have seemed to hit quite a hurdle with their friendship. Will the best frenemies be able to patch things up, or will an all-out catfight ensue? Catch Gossip Girl on Mondays @ 9PM on the CW 44Cable12 to find out.

GG2.jpg

GG3.jpg

Gossip Girl: Enough About Eve

This week’s episode of Gossip Girl was all about games. There were winners, losers, and a certain someone switching teams. Vanessa and Blair waged war over the freshman toast, Nate and Serena teamed up to help Carter through a poker game, and, of course, we finally got to witness the much-anticipated guy-on-guy Chuck Bass kiss. Let’s touch up on all the highlights, catfights, strikeouts, and make-outs:

Winning At Any Cost
We all know her as the preachy, tree-loving do-gooder, but this week we got to see a whole different side to Vanessa Abrams. She was downright evil. V was so bent on delivering the freshman toast that she was even willing to stoop down to Blair’s level and cause a rift between her good friends Dan and Olivia, all to win over her mother’s approval. V’s mother, Gabrielle, probably had to be the ultimate Debbie Downer, making sure her liberal opinions were heard and carrying on with her “down with the institution” shtick. We thought Serena had some serious parent issues, but it looks like Vanessa has it a lot worse. It was great seeing Vanessa’s character taking a different path, but this wasn’t the direction we had in mind. Leave the scheming to Blair Waldorf.

Blair didn’t fare any better. We started to see traces of the old conniving dictator that we feel in love with, as she, along with her minions, conspired to take down V and take over the freshmen toast, but B took it way too far this time. Why did she have to go and play Chuck for a pawn like that? The one person who’s been on her side and encouraging her this whole time. Because of her, the damage to "Chair" has been done. Blair has been on this never-ending downward spiral this season, and we have been rooting for her to take her rightful spot at the top. Sadly, it hasn’t happened. Blair has been digging her own grave.

Well, at least, if anything, we got to see the infamous Chuck Bass kiss. It was hilarious seeing Chuck making the moves on another man, and he did it with so much confidence, too. To be honest, I couldn’t help but squirm a little, just as Blair did, when Chuck and Josh kissed. Though all the hype was on “the kiss,” the best part had to be when Chuck declared to Blair, "You really think I've never kissed a guy before?" That was just priceless.

Poker Face
Finally, an episode where Nate plays a major part in the plot! Oh how we’ve missed staring at that pretty boy face of his. Nate was looking especially dapper and scrumptious in this episode. However, his good looks couldn’t distract us from the fact that he totally did Serena wrong, using her as a pawn to help advance Tripp’s campaign. Kudos to Serena, though. It was real gutsy of S to join in the poker game, putting herself on the line, to save Carter. She showed that she was down to hang with the boys. Too bad she lost. This Buckley poker game debacle is sure to put a strain on Nate and Serena’s friendship. Nate is going to have to make it up to Serena big time…perhaps a nice dinner? With Carter out of the picture, another Nate and Serena hook-up would be an awesome possibility. I’m just saying… it could happen.

What will become of our beloved "Chair"? I guess we’ll have to stay tuned. Catch Gossip Girl on Mondays @ 9PM on the CW 44Cable12.

EnoughAboutEve1.jpg

EnoughAboutEve2.jpg

EnoughAboutEve3.jpg

Gossip Girl Recap: Rufus Getting Married

In last night’s episode, there was blackmail, revenge, an awesome cameo from Sonic Youth, and, oh yeah, a wedding. Lily and Rufus finally get hitched, but not without a little scandal and some meddling from the merciless Georgina. Let’s recap all the Gossip highlights:

The Big Leap into Marriage
The episode became a big game of will they/won’t they, as Lily and Rufus wavered over getting married. Lily used every excuse in the book to stall things, while Rufus stuck it out, understanding the true heart of the matter: Lily was scared to let herself completely fall in love. I was definitely holding my breath for this one. I seriously thought that they weren’t going to go through with the wedding, especially with Georgina bringing in Scott to complicate things. It turns out that it was their lovechild that brought the two together. Who would’ve thought? As much as I was rooting for Lily and Rufus to make it official, I wouldn’t exactly have minded if they didn’t go through with it. I was secretly hoping for a Dan and Serena reunion. It looks like that’s out of the question now, because that would be just plain gross. In the end, it all worked out for the best. Rufus truly loves Lily and it was great to see Lily put her guard down and break the cycle of being a gold-digger.

Love is a Battlefield
Georgina really brought out the big guns on this one. Did she actually think Dan would still want to get back with her? Bombarding him with calls, texts, and animated e-cards? The girl is psycho! Georgina’s treacherous schemes of blackmail, crashing weddings, and outing Lily and Rufus’s lovechild didn’t make that big of a dent at all. In fact, she might’ve done them a favor by bringing Scott into the mix. Georgina came out thinking she was unscathed, but it seems that Dorota and Vanya are carrying out a plan of their own. Wonder what they have in store for the wicked Georgina.

I had my doubts about Carter’s intentions with Serena, but what he did for her was pretty sweet. He risked a lot going to the wedding, knowing full well that the Buckley’s would be there, vowing revenge against him. Also, kudos to Carter for fessing up. We find out why the Buckley’s are out to get him- apparently, he jilted Bree’s cousin Brenda, scamming her into trying to marry him so that the Buckley family could relieve his gambling debts. That was the old Carter. Carter tries to reassure Serena that it’s different this time around. It seems that Carter truly cares for Serena. By the end of the episode, we see Carter between two buff Buckley’s getting driven to a destination unknown. That’s very chivalrous of Carter, willing take those bruises to show his love for Serena.

Speaking of the Buckley’s, I’m glad Nate finally dumped Bree. Their relationship probably had to be the most boring relationship ever! Bree made it clear that she was first and foremost a Buckley and only used Nate to get to Carter Baizen. Such a dirty tactic. Bree didn’t deserve Nate, anyway. I hope now this means that Nate will get some juicier storylines.

The Chair love affair was put in the backseat this week, but it looks like they’ll be up at the forefront again for next week’s episode. I can’t get enough of those two lovebirds! We’ll finally get to see this much-talked-about guy-on-guy Chuck Bass kiss. Catch Gossip Girl on Mondays @ 9PM on the CW 44Cable12.

Gossip Girl Recap- “Dan de Fleurette”

In this week’s Gossip Girl, the Upper East Side got a little taste of Hollywood, as Hilary Duff and Tyra Banks guest starred as actresses Olivia Burke and Ursula Nyquist. Let’s do a little recap on some of the highlights of this star-studded event:

We Are All Made of Stars
This probably had to be the biggest episode of Gossip Girl ever! I mean, getting both Hilary Duff AND Tyra Banks on the show. With big-names guest stars such as those, the show did a great job of incorporating those characters into the plot. I wasn’t annoyed by Hilary Duff, and that’s saying a lot because I usually am. Her take on Olivia “Kate” Burke wasn’t half bad. Olivia’s relationship with Dan is definitely something new. At least, it’s a whole lot better than getting back with Georgina. Yuck. Leave it up to Crazy Ty-Ty to bring some madness into the GG realm. Yes, her acting was a little over-the-top, but that’s why we love her and it totally played into her diva-like character. Was anyone else as flabbergasted as me over that humongous hair in her first scene? Tyra came out looking like a wild lioness. Oh, Tyra, you’re so fierce!

S Gives Up the Spotlight… for PR
I was actually proud of Serena this week. For once, she wasn’t lashing out and doing her whole woe-is-me bit to get the attention of her daddy. Instead of being annoying and causing selfish drama, S was starting to gain back her composure and take responsibility for herself. Since she’s passed up Brown, she wants to prove to her mom and everyone else that she could make it on her own. Though she didn’t land any jobs with premier fashion designers Tory Burch or Georgina Chapman, she did happen to get that PR job as Casey’s assistant. Then again, it’s not like she really worked for it. Anyway, Serena did the right thing by telling Ursula not to have a meltdown. Good for you, S. Hopefully, she’ll stay on this righteous path, or at least continue to stay away from the self-drama.

The Golden Age of Constance
We finally got to see Little J take over as Queen Bee of Constance. By removing the jewel-encrusted headband, standing for the Queen Bee crown, Jenny had a new agenda as ruler of Constance, ushering in a new era of “sunshine and fairness,” one with no hierarchies or copy-cat cronies. Well, that didn’t last too long. Blair, of course, being one of the former heads of this hierarchy, had to stop this at once. A good ol’ Little J vs. Blair battle ensued. In the end, Little J gave up her ideals of equality and embraced the role of ruthless tyrant, bossing around her newly-enlisted minions. We thought Blair was bad, but it looks like Jenny has even more tricks up her bag. This should get good.

Chair Continues to Shine
Chuck and Blair continue to make us gush with their cuteness. There’s a fine line between cute and corny, and the writers have been doing a good job to make sure that the line isn’t crossed. Chair’s romance is played out in a subtle sort of way. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, nothing that would make you want to gag yourself. They have their battles, but they put each other in check. In this episode, Chuck grounds Blair back to reality, giving us that adorably memorable line “The next time you forget you're Blair Waldorf, remember I'm Chuck Bass. And I love you.” He cares so much for Blair, even paying a camera-man to take pictures of her so that she could feel important again. Chuck and Blair make each other better. That’s great, but let’s hope they don’t totally lose their devious ways in the process. That is pretty much what this relationship is built upon, two of the most conniving, cold-hearted people falling in love and breaking down each other’s walls. Aww.

Now that Lily (Kelly Rutherford is back from maternity leave) is back, her and Rufus can finally make it official. Next week, we’ll see the two tying the knot. That is, not unless Scott and Georgina have anything to do with it. Dun dun dun! Catch Gossip Girl on the CW on Mondays @ 9PM.

00555430526.jpg

00555410319.jpg

00555400afd.jpg

Gossip Girl Recap- “The Lost Boys”

In this week’s episode, “The Lost Boys,” we got to see some major relationships put through the wringer, as the bonds of Blair and Chuck, Serena and Carter, and Vanessa and Scott came to a head at the Sotheby auction. Let’s do a little recap of what the Gossip gang was up to:

Fatal Attractions
This week’s episode began with the old sock on the door, as Blair walked in on Georgina and a shirtless Dan fooling around. Is it me or is Dan looking mighty tan and studly these days? Whatever he’s doing to that hot bod of his, I say keep it up. I’m so glad that Georgina and Dan ended up cooling things off. She is just way too crazy, and Dan should know better. Did you see that picture of her and Dan on her laptop? Talk about psycho. Now that Georgina’s heart has been broken, I have a feeling we’re going to see the real claws come out. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. While we’re on the subject of psycho people, Scott was being totally weird again this week, stalking the whole Humphrey crew. It was great to see Vanessa finally come to her senses about the guy. Is anyone else wondering why Scott didn’t tell Rufus the truth? Well, we can be rest assured now that he’s out of the picture (dude gave me the creeps!), at least for now.

All is Fair in Love and Bidding Wars
This week, Chuck and Blair’s romance was put to the test with a little competition, as the two tried to outbid each other for a ridiculously expensive photo. Can the banter between Chair get any better? Every line of theirs was a memorable one. It was so hilarious when Blair stole Chuck’s shoes. The most touching moment had to be towards the end when Chuck explained why he wanted to buy the Empire Hotel. Though Chuck’s inspiration for his aspirations are sweet, I have a feeling that this might not bode so well for the couple. If Chuck’s business venture fails, then Blair would have something to do with it. Let’s hope it doesn’t resort to that.

M.I.A.
Okay, so this fling between Bree and Nate needs to end, like right now. Their plotline was utterly useless, and Nate didn’t have more than five lines. Bree and Nate were going to make it official by stepping out in the public eye at Sotheby’s, but we didn’t even see Nate introducing Bree to any of his friends. What we need to see is Nate getting back into the loop of things and better integrated with the rest of the crew. Also, where was Jenny and Eric throughout it all? They might’ve made a millisecond of an appearance, but that was about it. We know that Jenny is set to be the next Queen Bee at Constance, but we haven’t had even a mention of that, yet. Maybe I’m just being impatient, but I’m really anxious to see how Little J comes rule the school.

He is what he is… or is he?
Carter and Serena began to have the wheels turning on their relationship, but they came to a roadblock as Carter’s past came back to haunt him. A blonde bombshell alleging a sexual encounter? Credit cards declined for room service? It appeared as if this “reformed” bad boy was going back to his old habits, until we found out that the dynamic duo of Chair was behind it all. Perhaps, Blair and Chuck are correct with their judgments. Can we really trust that Carter Baizen has changed? I also wonder what he did to become a target for Bree’s family. Like Serena, I guess we’ll have to proceed with caution on this one.

Next week’s episode is definitely something to look forward to, with Hilary Duff and Tyra Banks being thrown into the Gossip mix. Catch Gossip Girl on the CW on Mondays @ 9PM.

Gossip Girl Recap- “The Freshmen”

In last night’s episode, the Gossip Girl crew started off fresh, as they began a new chapter in their lives into the world of college. Let’s do a little recap of what our freshies were up to:

The B*tch is Back
No, not Blair Waldorf. We’re talking about the other one, Georgina Sparks. Straight out of Bible Camp, she came back with a vengeance and a mission—to make Blair’s life a living hell at NYU. Georgina’s clean-slate, goody-two-shoes act was a little hard to believe. Okay, maybe not a just a little. This is Georgina we’re talking about. I’d say her performance had more of a desperately-trying-way-too-hard-that-it’s-so-transparent kind of believability. She was totally using Vanessa and Dan as pawns to her game. She’s done it before. And c’mon Dan, hooking up with her again? Hasn’t he learned anything from the whole “Sarah” incident? Sure, Georgina is the epitome of annoying, but man can that girl stir up some trouble.

Dan, the Man
Looks like our “Lonely Boy” isn’t so lonely, anymore. Dan goes from nerdy loner to (still nerdy) big man on campus. He has found his niche in NYU, getting involved and making new friends along the way. It was nice to see Dan finally getting appreciated and noticed by his peers. Getting published in the New Yorker is quite the accomplishment, after all. It was also amazing to see his tell-off moment on the rooftop party. College is making a new man out of Dan, a more sociable and confident one. I like where this is headed.

How the Mighty Have Fallen
Silly Blair, don’t you know that this isn’t high school, anymore? You can’t win over friends with trendy sushi parties and fancy limo rides. When Blair realizes that college doesn’t have the social hierarchy that she’s grown accustomed to, her world falls apart. It was interesting to see Blair as the social outcast this time. She almost regained her glory by sabotaging Georgina’s party. However, in the end, Blair was popularly outdone by the most unlikely of persons (not so much anymore)—Dan. Blair needs to come up with some new strategies. I’d really like to see Blair back on top again because that’s where she belongs.

Serena Acting Up…Again
Okay, Serena, we already let one slide with the daddy tantrum, but this is too much. S has decided that she’s not going to Brown, anymore, carrying out some more reckless behavior and needlessly ruining Chuck Bass’s ambitious business ventures in the process. As Chuck so eloquently put it, “trainwreck” would be the perfect word to describe her. S needs to start getting her act together because she’s starting to get on the irksome side.

Total Snoozefest
Way on the other side of town (or more like the other side of the universe) was the saga of Bree and Nate. This affair is turning into a total snoozefest. When Bree suggested that her and Nate stay in bed, cooped up in that apartment, I thought to myself, “How boring could this get?” Let’s hope that they get rid of Bree soon, so Nate could start having more involved and more interesting plotlines.

The show ended with another unforgettably precious moment brought to you by the greatness that is Chair (Chuck + Blair). Some might think that these two are getting a bit too sweet and lovey-dovey, but I say cherish these adorable moments while you still can because you know that there’s bound to be trouble in this relationship sooner or later.

What did you think of last night’s episode?
